Surrounded by immense farmlands, this small, friendly community has a deep heritage and a
pioneering spirit that continues to flourish today. Historical museum, city parks, golf courses
and a variety of shops add to the area’s character. Junction City is also home to many
recreation vehicle manufacturers.
Since 1961 thousands of people have been flocking to Junction City in August for the famous
Scandinavian Festival. The city transforms into an old-world town to pay homage to the
cultures of Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Iceland. The festival is complete
with ethnic food, dance, music, native costumes and arts and crafts. The festival also loans its
name to a 10 k run held annually.
In early June hundreds of people line the streets downtown to watch classic and show cars
strut their stuff at annual event known as the Function In The Junction. For 40 years the city
has also hosted the Daffodil Festival. It was once called "Daffodil Drive". Now, it's
grown to 2 days with many events. A great way to start Spring!
