Cottage Grove is located at the southern tip of the Willamette Valley. Named to the list of "All American Cities" TWICE (1968 and 2004) Cottage Grove gives its visitors a feeling of being home.
Cottage Grove's Historical Old Town has wonderful vintage appeal, with many antique shops, restaurants, and galleries, but also shows growth in the community as she shows off her newer shopping centers. With a population of 8,300 people, Cottage Grove offers "small town living with an up-scale" appeal.
Surrounded by tree-covered mountains, two reservoirs, major rivers and streams Cottage Grove offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation. A sportsmen’s paradise, you can get in a few holes of golf at one of the two golf courses and still have time for a nice family getaway tour of the six historical covered bridges. You can always take a pleasant drive in some of the most beautiful countryside you'll find.
If you are looking for something more organized, join one of the many sports programs offered by the Cottage Grove Recreation Association. Youth and adult programs offer year-round activities including baseball, softball, soccer and basketball.
Educational and recreational programs are also offered at the Lane Community College annex. This is a fun way to expand your educational needs and meet new people too.
Of course, there is the pride in history that is celebrated every year at the annual Bohemia Mining Days celebration. This celebration renews the history and pride of Cottage Grove's mining industry in the 1800's.
Cottage Grove is everyone's “home town” - a great place to visit and a great place to live.
